I haven't created one yet, but I recently listened to Vacation Rental Success podcast interview with Alan Egan, who is working on building a VR community of owners.

My second VR was financed through a small local bank - which was located in a totally different part of the country from the house!  

Definitely one of my major fears as an STR/VR owner and operator!  

Oregon Coast vacation rental investor here with a passion for financial modeling (nerd alert...).Interested in how folks approach revenue modeling for VR's.   

@Grin Dominee Alan @Mike Verna Hawaii, and Maui in particular, is/can be great for VR's, you just have to be careful about finding the right properties.

Also, eXp has classes offered either live or watched later on literally every possible topic. in the eXp VR world you can "walk in" to seek any support staff assistance, Mastermind meetings, etc etc.

Managed over 300+ rentals through a nationwide VR company so I'm quite experienced in handling large accounts.

. ;)If you have never been involved in a VR/STR, I wouldn't worry too much about your 2 items listed quite yet. 

@Julie McCoyI wasn't referring to AirBNB or VRBO, but major capital providers who can essentially create boutique hotel chains using economies of scale--- teams of PMs, purchasing power for supplies, big cash to buy up properties in up-and-coming neighborhoods and turn them quickly into airbnbs, full suite of automation tools, etc.Do any of you see big operations flooding into the VR market and leaving scraps for the normal airbnb user?   

I have a wife/cousin/neighbor/friend/inlaw that can help me do what Sonia Thiebeau is going to do in order to run the property as a STR or VR".But, I digress.
