Not fancy, but well-maintained and clean.Your landlord may just prefer to keep the status quo because it's low hassle, and maybe he also doesn't want to deal with the kind of renovation it might need to re-rent it.My guys were also very much aware of leaving property to their kids/relatives.

They aren't anything fancy, pretty run-of-the-mill.

I would just get a colorful shower curtain and towels to dress it up.

@Kimberly TI checked my NOLO  Every Landlord's Legal Guide, and this is what it said:...The courts in California have construed the Unruh Act to forbid all discrimination on the basis of one's personal characteristic or trait.Even if you live in a state that does not specifically outlaw arbitrary discrimination, there is a very strong practical reason why you should not engage in arbitrary discrimination-- for example, based on obesity, occupation, or style of dress.  

In the beginning, while I was working 50-60 hour weeks, living way below our means, not buying the latest this or that, driving cars till the wheels fell off, not going on fancy vacations my friends and family were doing all of this and more while almost laughing at me that I wasn't.

I manage a lower end 12 plex in an inner-city environment that's old, it's not fancy but we have a nice community of residents that are happy when things are fixed timely and properly.

I don't want or need high end or fancy stuff. 

So these guys won't be buying houses or other fancy assets.

I prefer my occult gatherings to be in a field with white maxi dresses and long dining tables, but really, what's the harm in people letting loose in the name of knowing t h e m s e l v e s?
