Single family homes have larger yards that apartments and it sometimes takes a full day for 2 to 3 workers to trim trees and plants, remove dead trees and plants and repair the damage to the yards and sprinkler systems.

Ask a trim carpenter or a drywall hanger for a frame carpenter's recommendation; ask a painter for a drywaller recommendation; ask a frame contractor for foundation installer's recommendation... in short, ask the trade who follows for recommendations for the trade they followed.

Having said all that in NJ you must use a state certified contractor to perform any lead abatement, the home cannot be occupied at the time of abatement and there is an inspection required by both the local government and a third party other than the contractor performing the abatement.I had trim replaced on 3 bedrooms, we are talking 5 " base trim, doors and windows.

To give you an idea of market rates for labor of trades people (in my area) plumber: $35/hr, trim carpenter $45/hr, electrician $50/hr, day labor $20/hr, landscapers $30/hr-Shopping around for a 25% or less commission.

Both jobs were made more tolerable with disposible rubber gloves and the mechanics gloves are the right weight, the right fit, and the right cost.The shop vac got used to vacuum hair out of the vents, a piece of broken glass out of the garbage disposal, and little shavings of new vinyl floor where the edges were trimmed to fit uneven walls.
