Pdf the siding is in good shape, I would keep it and add an accent, like shutters, or decorative trim above the windows/doors, as long as it is consistent with the home's style.  

Thanks much for your input.You really think someone good would pick out materials, paint colors, floors, cabinets, vanities, fixtures, doors, trim, etc... for $1000?

The only colors I ever spend for is the semi gloss trim and the ceilings white.  

Lead paint was mostly used on trim and doors, not walls.

I spent $15,000 last summer fixing up the inside (new tile throughout the house, new trim, new paint, new kitchen, etc).

There's too much siding there to paint it in the accent color you would use for the trim, so pick a color for the siding very similar to the color you want to have on the brick.

i have seen large moldings paired with craftsman style accents and sort of darker greenish beige trim and doors.  

The rock wool is non-combustable, thus if someone inadvertently lights a fire you will not run the risk of a chimney fire.In addition to caulking the outside of your windows (which is it now too cold to continue), you can apply a bead of painters latex along the seams of your window boxes (and door frames) and trim to cut down on draughts.
