Be sure you get an aluminum edge of the correct thickness to be flush with the surface of the tile with the adhesive or thinset behind it.Now that you have an edge to contain the tile you will often have 2 areas for it.Where the run of cabinets end on a straight wall run an edge from the last wall cabinet down vertically to the counter.Where the window is between 2 cabinets run the edge horizontally between the cabinet and window trim.

One aspect of MFR re-positioning that has always intimidated me is the rehab phase.I don't feel like I really have a good eye for aesthetics in terms of design, colors, layout, and materials.I've done cosmetic upgrades before, but they were for A-class, single-family homes, so it was fairly easy since I could just choose stuff that I already have in my own home (hand-scraped hardwood floors, granite and marble surfaces, and brushed-nickel or bronzed finishes, etc.)

You don't really have clear access until after closing, I wouldn't try to cut it to the hour.You should be there when that dumpster is droped (or your worker), lay lumber down on a driveway for the dumpster to sit on, it will scar the surface of the driveway, better set it on the lawn the ruts are easier to fix than gouges in the driveway.

I learned that I am not a trowel man...and that I like leveling compound better than skim coat. (6 bags...I think...kinda lost count) Using my best amateur effort I managed to get a reasonably level surface with a few imperfections.
