I'm looking to refinish an older countertop in a short term rental property.

As an Interior Designer, I got a little carried away :-) Refinished kitchen cabinets and replaced laminate counter tops with a high quality, seamless granite installation.

Your realtor/property manager should be able to help you determine how much more buyers in the area are willing to pay for, say, a 3 bedroom versus 2, or granite countertops versus laminate.

I am considering installing the granite counter tops myself (buy, cut and install) but I am not sure if the price of buying the tools and materials, paired with time/effort is worth it vs. hiring a professional?

The duplex has two 2/1 units that are in need of mostly cosmetic renovation(new flooring, paint, counter tops).
