Time is better spent hosting lunch-and-learns, being a junior achievement volunteer, putting on financial literacy courses at your church, starting web sites like BP, hosting podcasts to help others get ahead...practical stuff (where you may be able to help 1 out of 10 or 20 who are willing to fix the habits that keep them in the middle class).Class warfare creates more divide than it provides help or solutions.

I understand the learning curve is steeper when starting this way, but I am not in the habit of jumping the gun on a project before doing my research.

There is such a simple answer (or 3 or 4 actually) but I'm not in the habit of giving advice to people that are disingenuous and not willing to be ethical in their dealings with others.  

I am making it a habit to come on BP at least once a day now.

Not a problem at all and the home is still habitable while the work is going on so no reason to compensate the tenants for anything. 

I would assume she made the home habitable before moving in with her kids.

And the tenants habits are usually the same as they were in the past.

It is a great indicator of the cleanliness habits of the person.
