They fixed the problem by turning up the thermostat on the hot water heater; and by waiting until after they showered before doing their daily laundry.They commented that they like the washing machine, and that it gets their work clothes clean.

I use Honeywell 9000 wifi thermostats that send me alerts for humidity or temperature levels I configure.None of these items have monitoring or monthly fees.

You can travel over with a couple thermometers and hang out for 15 minutes to verify if there's a disparity between the thermostat and the room temperature.

One trick, and a good idea anyway if it's not already set up this way, is to have a thermostatic mixing valve on the output of the heater and have the heater set to it's max temp.
