We have been postponing the foreclosure auctions on the same homes for 6 months, then the auction is cancelled and the foreclosure process is restarted.

It seems banks are routinely postponing or canceling foreclosures in California and I am concerned that underlying factors I am unaware of may affect me accordingly, leaving me in foreclosure limbo.3) Is there any way the original owner could weasel his way back in to the property if I were to proceed with purchasing the note/foreclosing?

Of course a huge majority of the properties always get postponed and that doesn't happen until day of but that is part of the process.

By being the note holder with company A, you control the foreclosure process, and can postpone the sale if that helps company B acquire the property from the estate.Also, if the foreclosure ends up going through, you now are the owner..

A past newsletter (Aug 2008) mentioned that they had exceeded their legal budget for that year and were postponing lawsuits against homeowners until the next fiscal year.
