I run a profitable restaurant in a two-story commercial building.

However, the people moving to the community without ties are teachers (we had a bunch retire these last few years), an attorney, medical professional, mechanic, manager of assisted living facility, restaurant owner, carpenter, etc. on top of those other professions.

Besides main residences and restaurant/bar/retai­l I've done many investment properties that have been made rentals or sold for profit.

I learned to cook because the foods I liked are expensive in restaurants.

I was recently at a meeting where the speaker stated that many investors made their seed money in other ventures such as owning restaurants, a professional career such as CPA, etc.

This plan assumes that I stop at the 10 year mark and immediately begin paying everything down as quickly as possible to then live off the rental income and help my future wife's dream of owning her own restaurant come true.

Watched Marcus Lemonis on the profit and it seem you can invest in food trucks for  a cheap price and put the owner and some workers in there and take a cut of the profit as an investor.The traditional restaurants you have to drive very high sales per sq ft.
