We were out of the country and our realtor took care of us bidding at auction and buying this property.  

I simply bid low and negotiated up based on rental history of the house.

But I have experience, seen 100s of bids, and I'm happy to share it.

So basically there's a fulfillment software they use where if you are buying bulk they put a bid out there for your price and see if any of their distributors will sell at that price. 

@Aaron DavisI just put a bid in on a Section 8 property. 

You could see if your landlord would be willing to entertain a bid from someone that you found that is a licensed contractor in your state.Is the replacement assessment based on what the repair person stated, or just what the landlord wants? 

Does anyone have any experience bidding on auctions that don’t meet the reserve?

Bidding is at in person auctions at the county courthouse. 

I also have 3 builders I bid against that we are ready to ramp up capacity if the numbers work. 

With your experience, would you recommend buying a home now at a higher interest rate with a $100K price reduction in a buyer's market, or waiting 6 months for lower interest rates and the potential return of bidding wars?
