All IRA based plans are required to have a custodian to administer and report on the account.

It also has a provision in the same section that a tenant cannot be terminated for nonpayment by the Housing Authority.I am an Investor since 1980 and have been utilizing the IHA Administered Section 8 program since 1985.

@Chris Sukala  Its very doubtful that the tenant will be awarded more rent, they would have to come up with the difference out of pocket (good luck with that).I would check out your local area maximum rental rates for section 8, usually available thru the local HUD office (or whatever housing authority administers the section 8 program).

While it is OK for you in some senses to administer the investments of the IRA, an eviction process is an additional level of involvement and time that should be hired out.

The person in charge of a trust is not an administer. 

Just have to bug the testing centers (once I find out where they actually are/who administers the test) to fill me into a cancelled persons slot

Hi Tiffany,That's a great scenario for you to pick up an investment property.Someone is administering the estate.  

This type of plan is similar to the IRA LLC in that you have direct control over the funds in an account of your choosing, and can administer transactions yourself.

But doing this also carries the burden of administering the multiple entities and observing the corporate formalities so as to prevent "piercing" of the liability shield.  

I've administered my own properties, SFD's, and over 1,200 MFD's and the more units managed the less personal attention you can give to each tenant or their situation.
