After I get a sub I like - I pay promptly, answer their calls/text/emails, don't beat them up on price (assuming it is within reason and I like them), use them every time to create the relationship and let them know I appreciate them - I bought my plumber a 1.75l of Makers Mark for helping me out on a job where I needed him quickly- it cost me like $40 and he still talks about it.
