Do you think it would be worthwhile to meet with the CPA soon before we start making large purchases or can it wait until tax time next year assuming I keep good documentation?  

Like any business (or anything worthwhile for that matter) you need to set goals. 

Scheduling a 'concept review meeting' seems like it would be a very informative and worthwhile decision.  

It strikes me that it would be worthwhile for ALL landlords to consider the contents of their leases, particularly to see if there is a "Force Majeure" clause contained therein. 

Probably because due to the costs of building one-off custom homes in this area, you want the property value to be well over $1M for it to be worthwhile, and there aren't any $1M homes in this part of town, coupled with the fact that the lot is long and narrow with a stream running through it, which poses a lot of challenges/risks.

Some investors will require an IRR of 20% to make the deal worthwhile.  

@Curt Smith I dont compare it to be much different than low end properties with a lower entrance (much lower) point and actually slightly better tenants, that's just my 2 cents worth. While

I doubt that's worthwhile for only $100K.Really, the best bet is to find investors with enough cash to do a deal by themselves.

After that everything is gravy.The "investment of the self with a large fiscal component" is certainly worthwhile, IMO, if in addition to the extra one earns over their lifetime with a degree, they come out as a better, more well-rounded individual.Within my various sample populations/circles of friends/colleagues/acquaintances, all of the ones that went to college are doing a lot better in life than those that didn't, and it's not even close.

Its not automated, but I feel like the customization we have in Podio makes it worthwhile.
