In the medium term I want the freedom to pursue music/circus at a high level while doing some amount of freelance software engineering (I'm currently a full time software engineer for a big company) on the side.Congrats on the contract! 

I think everyone understands the reason for locks and thermostats but I would also add lighting control so you can ensure everything is off once everyone leaves which would save a ton of money and speakers so you guests can enjoy music anywhere in the home if they want (after all it is a vacation :). 

I've been working for myself in the music industry for the last 10 yrs.

I find I rarely listen to music in the car anymore as I always have an audiobook or podcast going.

I've done REFIs and 1031 exchanges, and now my instrument is Recasting which I see as a valuable mechanism that positions me in a healthy place to build my portfolio faster while following a strategy I'm comfortable with.
