I'm not going to repeat what has already been said, but it's basically a speculation play for a potential buyer.  

Some investors play this into their numbers already...so houses that should be worth much less than they are selling for due to the speculation.

They may have a need think they can solve using the cash from the sale (if any), or they just don't want it anymore for some reason.We can speculate here all we want.

(somewhat speculative on my part I know)A Land Contract or Contract for Deed or alike transfer title upon the successful completion of the contract terms.  

These spec plays on dying areas hoping for a comeback is pure speculation in my eyes.

As Gordon Gecko says in Wallstreet 2..".The mother of all evil is over leveraging and speculation.

But if the banks would look at the defaults on investment stuff, I'd bet anything that the ones they got back were from speculators whose houses weren't cash flowing much or were negative.

I've seen a lot of people "invest" in raw land, only to discover, 15 years later that they were really speculating and their speculation didn't pan out."

No realtor is gonna wanna go driving around showing the place to a buyer who's just speculating.

I believe the area (Celina, TX) that i'm in is about to experience tremendous growth but I've learned on here that investors call that "speculation" and you should never base your numbers off of that.
