@Joe Zouine I recommend the books by Nolo Press about corporations and LLCs although they are more based on them from a legal structure vs taxes.What structure you use depends on what you are going to do with the property.

Trouble with books is that they're out of date by the time they hit the press. 

But during that time we were pressed on time and going back and updating the permit will postpone the project so we decided to just do it the way the plan was submitted to the city.
