You do not state where you are located, and every jurisdiction is different, but I don't see any hope for getting anything from them, with apparently NO evidence to support that there was a "meeting of the minds".You can try to take it up with YOUR Agent's Broker, but again with nothing in writing...good luck.

I'm no lawyer but since the neighbor caused no damages I'm guessing you would be digging deep to sue him, not worth your time .. if it was me I'd just cut my grass and bring photo evidence to court less you can just write a letter?
