What programs are out there to provide temporary relief (e.g. no interest loans, social programs, etc.) and help offset current costs?

The rent is still due and any rent relief is temporary. 

Its very very temporary.

Those working people are the unsung folks that should be getting Temporary help but that's not gonna happen. 

Unfortunately the COVID situation is the excuse that some members of Seattle leadership needed to try out housing policies they have been wanting long before the emergency declaration - no late fees on rent,  no evictions for any reason,  housing payments basically optional,  landlords unable to enforce any rental agreement terms.They aren't done yet either - another ordinance is already in the works preventing us from using eviction history in screening potential applicants also supposedly temporary for 6 months after the emergency orders end,   and it also extends the prohibition on any late fees for a year.I hate to say it but I have before and I will again - do not invest new money in rental properties in Seattle without pricing in all these additional risks.   

I need to know that the problem preventing full payment is temporary (not a job loss, or major life altering event).

I live and enjoy each day to the fullest being immersed in the present day.You could rent the car for a week and just see if it was a temporary itch to get rid of or if you found yourself wanting more.

@Dennis Cosgrave migration to the suburbs is temporary, businesses are starting to figure out that remote work is not as productive.

Only because we have moved 12 times in the last four years and know our current home is also temporary.

I did a temporary rent reduction of 100 per month while it was on the market and that worked well but the tenants were anxious, just something to think about.
