@Christopher Morris, after being an REI myself since 2019 and our bookkeeping firm serving many REIs who have different strategies/business models, I'll tell you what is super clear to me...Never rely on rental properties to feed your family.

I agree with @Jonathan Greene that the question is vague, so my advice will have to be as well.The short answer: MTRs are real estate, so just like all real estate, any place that can long-term-rent cash flow with increasing jobs/population can be a suitable site to purchase. 

and very easy to go on line pop companies names in or the MLO name in the system to see if they are real.. if they pop up on that site then they are for sure real.

However, you must give both a 5 and 14 day notice (concurrently) which must be properly served, and it gets more technical from there. 

I have been accessing the results with no problem in the past, but something has changed on the site.  

RTC stands for "Over the Counter" which itself means, liens that were not sold at the original lien auction and are available no on  a first come first served basis at face value. 

I can check the Register of Deeds site, type up a deed, and purchase a house in 2 hours.
