This will be our primary residence for the next 2 or 3 years, and then we'll need to relocate for 2 years as I pursue my MBA.

I am a new investor (currently don’t have any properties) I am graduating with my MBA in May and I also have a full time job (making as good money as could be expected for a first job).

Currently, I am finishing my MBA and plan on taking some classes on Real Estate Investments as well and I am looking for properties in Newark, Jersey City and Elizabeth in NJ but also considering out-of-state for the future.I am looking forward to connecting and learning with everyone and hopefully sometime soon I will also be able to help people that are starting like I am!

@Paul Linnertz Hi Paul, I too am looking to invest in some student rentals in Albany Currently finishing up my MBA there and I played lacrosse there undergrad as well.

I have an MBA w/ a concentration in finance so I've always been a paper asset guy and below is what I personally do, but am no way qualified to give financial advice so do your research first and check with a qualified financial professional if you have one.  

Institutional firms have formal analyst/associate programs where they hire students out of college or out of MBA programs and mold them into asset managers.

I usually advise people to not go to college unless they are pursuing Medical, Law, Accounting, Finance, or MBA.

Would getting my MBA help with real estate investing?

I was enrolled and doing my MBA when I decided to pursue this avenue of investing instead, so the money I was paying out of pocket to cover MBA courses could instead be used towards educational content in real estate investing.
