to my knowldege, you can't stall the proceedings before the auction usless you arrange payment.you can, in NC, stall the proceedings once the foreclosure goes to auction.

IMHO that's why CA is so broke as a state. they are too high on their horses to let this market take its course and go through what it must go through in order to recover.as a "bulk buying bottom feeder", were paying over 50 cents in CA. it makes sense that buying 1 or 2 at a time would put you in the 75-80 range.as an investor, i say hold in CA. don't buy yet. their crap smells as bad as anyone else in GA and OH and their market will still get rocked.jeff

I know that the areas that I do appraisals in that were increasing at an extremely rapid rate a few years ago are starting to stall and even decrease in value.

We do a datedown the day before the sale to make sure no one filed BK or other stall tactic but in general, if our sale is at 1:00 and someone gets a postponement for some reason prior to that 1:00 start time, we would have to postpone or unwind any sale that may have occurred.

Unfortunately I have little to no experience in this field and I would really like to become a little more knowledgeable and gain some experience before I start a rehab project.From all the stories I've heard of contractors overcharging for exorbitant amounts of money/stalling projects and draining money I feel as if the one thing I'm really lacking is knowledge in construction.

Obviously an over-reaction now that the horse is out of the barn, but it is what it is.I'm not running a conduit operation like these big turn-key investment companies, that buy/rehab, then sell to end-buyers on a turn-key basis.
