You may be able to find mediocre deals or pay retail price or find deals that look great but locals know better that it is in a bad part of town, but then you are taking on more risk and won't likely be as profitable.One twist I think may work is if you pick the same markets to travel to ... then you establish a local network and knowledge in each of those markets.
