I just recently had an air conditioner condenser unit replaced in June in my California duplex.The bill was for $2200 for a 3 ton with r-22 Freon.The second unit just went out and now I am quoted $2800 for 14 seer 31/2 ton.

I usually almost always replace things like the AC condenser unit, electrical panel, furnace, hot water heater, etc unless they look/are fairly new (less than 10 years old).

Most buyers generally do not last very long as it is a dreamers concept only.The general condenses is NIMBY.If you are in a area that already accepts and has communities OK otherwise let someone else take the risk and fail.

Hello Donna,For security on a property while rehabbing, I typically do the following -make sure all windows have blinds and shut them ( no holes, broken blinds,etc)- make sure all exterior doors have a turnknob and deadbolt and fit tight on the door and door frame-alarm wire around AC condenser and crawlspace door, and contacts at all entries.

Make sure that the condensation line is also cleaned and not obstructed where it drains.
