If they blatantly damage the property on the way out the door, then it could constitute vandalism, result in criminal charges, and perhaps qualify for an insurance claim.

By the way, that law is blatantly unconstitutional.

I would definitely catch this in my own, but what if it wasn't such a blatant visual issue?

@Kevin Forsell  - As others have said, what you are contemplating is blatant mortgage fraud.

I learned a similar lesson but it wasn't an intentional theft by a contractor, but just blatant incompetence.

If they could please move aside their mulch on the county property, even if it’s temporary while we finish our project, it would be greatly appreciated.If no response, or blatant FOff then they’ve shown their hand what all future relations will be like while you attempt to complete the project.  

However,he has employed an aggressive real estate attorney and is accusing me of not maintaining the property ( his statements are blatantly false ) and denying that he owes me rent .He owes $5000 rent arrears ( less $1350 deposit ) and has caused damage to the property via wilful negligence.

I was trying to figure out ways to make that work but I'm really at a loss and as ridiculous as the rules are sometimes I don't feel comfortable blatantly breaking them.  

I've used it twice, but primarily for blatant floor and furniture damage.
