If it takes longer for any reason, you have to read what your contract says about it, but you may not have any choice but to let them keep working on it.However, if they have breached ANY other provision in the contract- ghosted the job site without written notification and justification; not followed the scope of work included in the contract; violated any black and white term of the agreement- then maybe you have evidence to claim breach of contract.

My guess from an HR perspective (same burdens of proof apply), if they are the only protected class, and you are only evicting them, make sure you have evidence of why you are evicting them.
