Here is what I take from this thread: 1) As a owner I can not control my emotions.2) Owners are weak and need to hide behind the PM hat.3) Owners are not perceived as being professional.4) Owners are embarrassed to take ownership of their rules. 5) Owner are required to talk to their tenants about their personal life.6) Owners are not legitimate business people.7) I am not capable of enforcing my own rules.My perception is that these are the comments of easy chair investors not landlords.

There might be a lot more going on in the lawsuit but all I have to go on is this article.Again, don't know the guy, I didn't even hear the podcast you guys mentioned, I just think we shouldn't condemn the guy based on a clickbait headline and weak allegations that anyone that knows the business can call BS on...

Here's what's concerning me: This applicant wrote a letter to explain late payments on their credit report and stated in the letter they are going through a divorce from a person who was chronically unemployed which created the need to live off credit cards and this person is not paying their debts on the joint accounts.

Ken,You sure found an old post.I see that many of the previous posters are no longer around.Looks like Ryan and Eric are still here but most of the others have not been around for a while.I have found that one of my weakness is that I am not quick enough to adapt to changing markets.My wife and I bought a vacation rental in the Smokies back in 03.
