It adds nothing to assure the real identity of the person you're working with and only deludes one to make assumptions.  

If this is a situation where he was randomly gunned down (IE getting robbed, or mistaken identity, or him ending up being collateral damage from a gang shoot out) Then I would have a sit down and find out what the tenants want to do immediately.

I obviously don't know for certain but they painted my other identical building next door without a serious mess.

They are all told that there are privacy issues, identity theft, etc.

I see that in my market regardless if it's a duplex or a 16 unit building (and higher).But for whatever it's worth,my buildings are side by side and identical.

Tenant is able to request a record about themselves after verifying their identity, after seeing their report, they can dispute the report, and we will add the tenant's side of the story next to the report that landlord submitted.
