Its a great way for eliminating shady operators or non genuine peopleThese guys you don't want to do business with as its a train wreck waiting to happen.The other 1% might genuinely have your best interests at heart and there could be potential on a long term business relationship.I have been based in KC since September 2012 and it took me 18months of doing this before I finally moved here.

I hear of people partnering up with others to buy properties but I just wonder how can they really trust somoene they met a few weeks ago through a networking event.For the most part you could use the following methods1) Look for an internet presence: If you find a good internet presence, it means this person has taken the time and effort to create a reputation online, which means they are more likely to be genuine than others.2) Know what you are doing and ask lots of questions: Before jumping into any kind of investments, I often read several books to educate myself.
