Jake,Thank you for your opinion.I hear what you are saying, and get the same feeling from general reading on the subject.Another of my thoughts are that for younger people, stairs may be easily navigated with heavy laundry baskets.

If it is a negligence issue (like you didn't repair a stair on the deck and someone fell through) then an LLC doesn't offer a ton of protection.

He only had $50K or liability insurance for his car.Second case involved a slip and fall where the step at the end of the stairs was higher than the building code allowed, and the handrail was loose and did not hold up to the grossly overweight guy who fell.

I ordered so much lumber (For framing) from one local lumber house that not only did I get large discounts but I got free pencils (OMG) and free tickets to local NFL/MLB games, which I rarely used, I would pass these on to my Subs to further cement our relationships.
