One strategy you can use is to continue what you are doing and house hack and rent to traveling professionals. 

Did you work with any real estate professionals (agents, lenders, etc.) that you'd recommend to others?

Also Mid-Term Rentals to traveling professionals, people displaced for insurance reasons, or doing a renovation to their home and needing a place to live for  3 months or more are also possibilities.

Along the way I've learned a lot of trade skills as well which goes a long way helping to maintain assets.
