That’s a tough one in my opinion.

I am no expert by any means but I thought I would drop my opinion here. 1) Should I focus on duplex since they're most likely less expensive in my area in category A or B properties, or aim for more units?

The only way you will make money is hit the trenches in m my opinion.

My quick opinion is yes, there's money to be made as an investor, but it's not for the faint of heart (or stomach)!

But there are alternative exits that still profit a decent amount, in my opinion anyways.So, this is what you would call a high risk strategy? 

I would like to get an opinion before I purchase my first property in about a month.

If security and consistent cash flow matter most, paying off the STR could provide a strong foundation.Just some things to think about based on my opinion.
