Western NY could include Rochester and Buffalo and all the smaller markets surrounding those areas. 

@James FullenOf course being near hospitals in Denver or the surrounding 'burbs is a good place to be for attracting medical professionals, but I don't think it's a requisite.

Rooftop deck has built in BBQ, fire pit, surround sound, and an above ground spa!

Pete is tricky as there are pockets of the surrounding areas that will allow for air bnbs.

First of all, my town and the ones surrounding are pretty small and don't have much for events for these types of people often enough to make a huge difference.

My wife and I are looking into investing in short term rentals in vacation markets surrounding NYC (Catskills, Adirondacks, Poconos, etc) and just wanted to check if anyone here might have some insights they could share.

LTR is also possible with this method.I generally stay in the surrounding counties to get lower value properties. 

The home is fully surrounded by woods—no neighbors in sight; so views are important.
