When you said you had some money saved up, I was thinking that meant you would have enough for a down payment on an FHA loan.

If he meant it the way you interpreted it, he could be applying the rules in his jurisdiction, possibly erroneously, to your jurisdiction.  

They instead use conventional conforming loans with low down payments meant for primary residences to purchase properties ready to live in!

Nicest sections are closer to Grandview Ave/Duquesne Heights.verna- out side of Pittsburgh: I think you meant Verona if so it's a C+ area pretty good school district in Riverview.
