While some point to tax benefits or the potential for higher interest rates compared to banks, the real motivation is usually the perception that the seller can secure a higher price by offering financing.

Likely due to low occupancy and the perception a different use has more demand.

It’s hard to hear this perception shift, as to me it seems like we are just building on our foundations.

And depending on the conditions, would we want them to happen (from a larger societal perspective)?

It’s a quirky story, but will open your eyes to a different perception of employment and how real estate can be a great vehicle to wealth.I wish you all the best!

It is going to change the perception of buying a home in my opinion.

I can easily construct a scenario where the PM did absolutely nothing wrong despite your current perception.

Those that “don’t see” the benefit to a party likely are unable to comprehend that their own perceptions, history, experience, and motivations are not “universal” in scope.  

The biggest impact could be in the negative PR though, as sometimes perception becomes reality, factual or not.
