Back in 1990, the EPA audited national laboratories and found an unacceptable number of false positives and false negatives.

It's like a gentleman smarter than me said, we have "50 laboratories of democracy", let them experiment.

Housing demand in the market (Los Alamos, NM) is quite strong, due to the national laboratory in town, so I am not necessarily concerned about finding renters.      

Take a look at West Knoxville and Farragut (however higher prices, better returns and great school system), Maryville and Oakridge (Oak Ridge is home to two large government plants that employ over 10,000 people (Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Y-12 National Security Complex) but be careful with with city taxes there.

I used to work in laboratories so odors don't often bother me, but this stuff actually gave me a sore throat.

A quick check of the DEA's National Clandistine Laboratory Register shows about 1000 meth houses in Michigan since 2004.
