If they just got off the bus and are just starting a job at the local greasy spoon owned by their cousin, I'm justified in rejecting them.

During the 2008 -2009, cheeseburgers (stocks) were cheap, just like house prices plummeted as well.

This is a snowy depressing midwestern hellscape of dirty, broke, unemployed tenants with 21 dogs and they cook greasy foods and touch all the walls and sit around all day smoking tweeds and trying to stuff q-tips in the drains!

Another thing to consider is that recirc fans do not filter air and as a result you may get a greasy film on the top of your cabinets over time.  

They lived there for 2 years and when they moved out every surface was covered with a greasy yellow coating, and the minisplit was filthy and had to be taken apart and cleaned.
