Also a couple years back I was trying to get my water fix that was running off a spring the people told me I couldn't use it anymore because it was surface water and they made me dig a well.

Then they dig a little deeper and find out you aren't shovel ready then you'll basically be placed on hold until you are.

Because our main shutoffs are almost always at the back of the garage, after they dig a new trench and replace the old line.

@Zak Marinko If the basement isn't currently living space, dig a few holes around the perimeter to see how low your footings are. 

You don't want to dig a hole that you can't get out of because you are hoping it'll grow.

After reading through I think it's definitely better for me dig a little deeper to find good properties and take it one property at a time.
