Studying in Scotland, Portugal, and Colombia, I´ve come to realize this is a positive global trend but almost non-existent in the States.

Hi all I'm new to the BP community and love the podcasts and content so far...I'm currently researching the UK markets as well as Spain and Portugal looking for whichever options make the most sense for rental income. 

They've been marketing properties in Portugal recently and they've been doing deals in Puerto Rico as well following the same model.Given the comments above, there's not too much I can add.

This is very typical of how most smaller towns in Portugal, where I lived for a couple of years growing up. 

I'm going to Funchal in Portugal in a few weeks.

I was looking for villa's in Portugal and Italy.

The PIGS (Portugal, Italy, Greece, Spain) were receiving benefits of linking their economy to that of Germany & France.

I have 2 properties in Portugal and I dont get the most of them and sometimes I lose money because I am not there.
