The max I have seen is 85% LTV, however the rate will kill the deal.. 

I don't know what the max is you can pull out for each property, but it will be less than 80%. 

Obviously the closer you get the to coast lines and to resort areas the higher the price points get.If I had 80k and I was digging into my HELOC to get it, the most capital I'd want to tie up in one deal, the first deal is 30k - 40k max.  I

I would say that being within 15-20 minutes of town would be the max I would go if I were selecting a more secluded/private experience. 

MAX I would pay is 650k, and that would still be below avg of a deal.

@Max Householder - Max I see this post is a couple of years old.  

No pay for those leveraged to the max is a much more serious situation. when I brokered the deal them they paid cash..

My new policy max is $10K, which isn't even 3 months rent in LA.
