The reason I ask is city of San Diego has gone all in on higher density housing such as ADU bonus program, unlimited ADU count in existing space, and as close as SB10 came to being incorporated (backed by mayor but rejected by planning Commission).I have not followed Chula Vista but have not heard of the same extreme measures.

I was rejected from the two carriers he tried because, from the best that I can understand, my policy is a commercial liability policy and the carriers will only write a personal umbrella policy over a “premise” or “worldwide” liability policy.

In addition, the statewide rules give a time limit for a jurisdiction providing a rejection (time line not applying at this time due to Corona) and sets side and rear setbacks at a very small amount (I believe it is 4').Basically the state is making it as easy as they can to add an ADU onto any residential property regardless of the local zoning.
