For example, let's say you want to buy a $200k 1-bedroom oceanfront condo:  $200,000 x .0133 = $2660.I'm obviously biased, but I firmly believe the Myrtle Beach market is a relatively low-risk play for new investors. 

Not usually looking at tax returns or personal income too much either... some do, but many do not.I am a bit biased towards DSCR so I will not be able to offer you many cons with them.  

There is not a 3rd position an agent can take.Unlike real estate agents, there is not a contract obligating insurance agents to the Buyer.If you are concerned about the agent being biased towards the insurance carrier, and not you, that is up to the integrity of that particular agent.Hope that helps

I must say that I am biased as my parents bought one (sold it after market crash and it still hasn't recovered from the 2010 timeframe)

@Matt HubertI’m a bit bias but I like Tampa because we have 3 pro sports teams, big concerts and festivals, gulf beaches, spring break/spring training, and two downtowns (Tampa and Saint Pete) so there is a lot of draw to the area besides one thing.

To be clear, I am biased being an investor in the area and a Realtor.

I may be slightly biased having lived here for so long, but you have picked a great place to call home and begin your investing journey.

I'm very biased to the "Old Florida" feel.
