Given that you have three options;Foreclose on a senior mortgagePay the lien offNegotiate a better payoff for a lien release in some manner.In the last matter, I have found some liens to include false or exaggerated claims that could not be proven, in that the lien holder may have violated law in filing or claiming the debt, that can have consequences.

Doesn't matter who told you to do it or what their advice was, if you signed docs with false statements you can't blame anybody for that.I'd say report the brokers to your state RE dept. but then you'd be reporting yourself for participating.

I use TenantBackgroundSearch.com.....get the full report $29.95I disagree...get social security number, get DL number, get as much information as possible(or legal in your state) because it is much less likely for people to lie/cheat you and have all that false or fraudulent information to do it with, AND if they did, they are already guilty of several felonies that would probably make them a bit less confrontational, if things go sideways.
