Yes, they are getting higher than market rent for that specific Neighborhood, but they also have a hard time finding a S8 tenant that wants to move into and stay in that Neighborhood.

That said, Detroit is very much a block-by-block market, so understanding the dynamics of specific areas is critical.For professional investors (and even newer ones), Detroit’s future is bright if you approach it with the right strategy, solid due diligence, and an understanding of the challenges.

There can always be a situation specific to you where your intent was to hold but something cause you to change that. 

While podcasts, books, seminars, and websites offer general knowledge, you'll buy a specific property in a specific location, subject to local rules and regulations.
