You should be able to search (if your county has online records) for your tenant’s name and/or all previous addresses listed on the tenant’s credit report.

NMLS registration is a bonus because you can look them up on the federal registery to make sure they are real..

Dig deep for online reviews, Better Business Bureau and their State Real Estate Board, etc.- Do be open-minded though as we have many of the above from tenants who claim we illegally evicted them (so, somehow we got a signed Write illegally?)
