There is no way to Avoid burnt out land lord obviously not every one will suffer from that.. its just TTT and what it is..

Like you mentioned, frequent crashes, problems uploading photos, weird restrictions on what words can't be used, listings removed for no obvious reason. ....and, to me, the navigation/operation is very unintuitive and cumbersome.

Obviously I will not do the REI but they had a good pitch about the stocks market and investing in options.

Obviously, if they go out of business, I don't get much or anything back from my principal, but the same is true of any stock as well (I owned AIG stock in '07 & '08 haha).

I'm in the camp (tax-wise) that there should be a Flat tax or better yet, National Sales tax with no deductions for anybody or anything......so obviously the concept of depreciation would go away also.

The magic of real estate is buying a property and creating $50-100k in equity through $25k of strategic renovation while you are 4x-5x leveraged (for example...I'm obviously just making up numbers). 

I definitely don't make any money off the place, but the airbnb rentals pay for maintenance and my gas driving to and from WA :-) Question: Have any of you missed some either obvious or not so obvious red flags that would have caused you to negotiate or walk away from the deal and if so what were they?
