They may not want to waste their time with a newbie...

It was ok for a newbie like me at the time however it was horrible.  

I actually have was closing myself on properties they were rejecting and made a lot of $- They backed out on another deal which I quickly paid off the balance and cancelled (they were stunned) I then rescinded the contract between them and told them this operation will Only work guys on newbies.  

Someone asks about a repair, then someone who has remodeled 25 houses answers his question,  then the next newbie has an insurance question and an Ins. agent responds.  

THAT being said, for newbie investors you need to be careful of taking on large projects.

That said, if you can gain some basic knowledge and take away a few good nuggets from a course as a newbie, then it could be a good starting point (of course the best starting point is doing what you are doing here, engaging the BP community).
