The environment now with higher interest rates and higher purchase price does make it more difficult but definitely doable. 

They market as “lock in now at today’s prices and reap the benefits later”  but that is just not the reality.

I lowered the price down to $700 a month and is sitting at the lowest priced 2 bedroom unit in the neighborhood.

There are people who buy a longer term (12 months or more ) OPTION giving them a RIGHT to purchase a subject property, at a certain price, within a certain amount of time, and attempt to either sell the option for a higher price or close on a simultaneous purchase and sale to an end buyer paying a higher price.  

If so, is it worth the price?

At this time, I am having to pay all cash in order to close.Purchase price is approximately $600k.

It is often much lower than rent O meter because rent O meter is pulling data from the advertised price, not the rented price.

Purchase price: $655,000 Cash invested: $40,000 Sale price: $770,000 Purchase and hold.
