They also know about real estate so less likely to charge you extra fees to get an appraisal or BPO because they can estimate the value themselves.

So if I understand, you would get a loan the normal way and then the bank trust is an extra fee that comes along with owning the property in Mexico?

Most investors don’t even need an LLC and a holding company is extra, extra overkill though IMO.

Your friend should include as many details as possible concerning how they were pitched the investment in the prom note.

@Jemini LeckieIf investing locally is not in the cards I would do some research and pin point a market that fits what you are looking for and then reach out in the forums for that specific market and ask more detailed questions.

I hate to pay extra money for a PI on work we have already done. 

The management company just didn't do a good job of providing details on bills and never checked on the units.

We want to detail the responsibilities, capital contributions, profit and lost sharing percentages, decision-making process, have dispute resolution methods, and exist strategies.
