If you are at 6%+ I would say make the extra payment as you have to factor in net (not gross) returns from what you would do with that money.

they are buying the assets and closing.. and the big ones are all licensed.. so you can have an employee work for you in a very narrow scope.. but why u would want to do this is weird.. there is no real money in it and over time your not building a career your just wasting time. trying to figure out how to stay on the fringe.

@Dave Charron, just a guess but perhaps the company wasn't properly insured or the guy wasn't an on the books employee and also the company probably has no suitable assets that can be sold off to collect against them.
